Brookfield rheometers

The technique of measuring at imposed speed has its limits when it's necessary to measure the consistency of a product at rest. It's impossible to take a measurement at null speed.
Many products at rest have a smooth structure while others have a thixotropic behaviour (evolution of the viscosity in the course of time). These products require a more thorough analysis of their visco-elastic behaviour.
Whereas the technique of measuring at imposed speed applies a constant speed and measures the applied pressure, the more sophisticated measuring technique at imposed pressure applies a constant pressure and measures the shearing rate. Very low pressure can be imposed, which allows the measurement of consistency of a product at rest.


Brookfield rheometer RST-CPS

The RST series of touch screen rheometers are instruments that operate both in controlled shear rate and controlled shear stress modes for sophisticated rheological analysis.

  • Wide range of shear rate, shear stress and torque allowing a flexible analysis of the flow including creep and the flow threshold.
  • 4 measurement geometries : cone/plate, plate/plate, coaxial cylinders or spindles (for semi-solid textured products and having suspended particles matter).
  • Torque : up to 100 mNm.
  • Shear rate : from 0,013 to 7800 sec-1.
  • Speed : from 0,01 to 1300 rpm.
  • LCD touch screen with graphic display.
  • Low volume of product required.
  • Quick connect coupling system for spindle or cone, automatic recognition by barcode.
  • Can be used in standalone or pilot mode via the Rheo3000 software.

  • Temperature control via a bath or Peltier effect or electrical resistance.

  • Wide range of shear rate, shear stress and torque allowing a flexible analysis of the flow including creep and the flow threshold.
  • 4 measurement geometries : cone/plate, plate/plate, coaxial cylinders or spindles (for semi-solid textured products and having suspended particles matter).
  • Torque : up to 100 mNm.
  • Shear rate : from 0,013 to 7800 sec-1.
  • Speed : from 0,01 to 1300 rpm.

Brookfield rheometer RS portable

The new Brookfield portable RS Rheometer can measure in controled shear stress or controled  shear rate mode. It has the same function as the stand RS rheometer.

It can measure viscosity, yield stress, creep in you lab or on the field.

You can use it on main power or with the battery.

The Broofield RS portable rheometer offer the best compromise in term of performance and flexibility. I fits with the needs of th market and have a reasonable price.
