Grinding beads (glass)

Since 1854, Sigmund Lindner has established itself among the world leaders in the manufacturing of glass and ceramic beads used for applications such as the grinding of raw material. Our current range includes the various following beads :

  • Glass beads (S, SL, M)
  • Glass beads with a Zirconia proportion (GZ)

Glass beads for grinding SiLiBeads S

  • Grinding and dispersion beads for the industry (paints, pigments, agrochemical...)
  • Beads for surface treatment (shot blasting).
  • Reflective beads for road marking.

Principal advantages :

  • Homogeneous and smooth surface.
  • No air bubbles.
  • High degree of roundness and elasticity.
  • Many sizes. Narrow size ranges.
  • No impurities nor glass fragments. 
 
   

Glass beads for grinding SiLiBeads SL

  • Glass beads with low alkali content (<1.5%).
  • Ideal for grinding magnetic pigments
    (magnetic tapes for audio or video cassettes).

Principal advantages :

  • Low wear.
  • Stable pH-values of the grinding suspension during the grinding process.
 
   

Glass beads for grinding SiLiBeads M

  • Beads produced by moulding.
  • Diameters up to 25 mm.
  • Available in alkaline or borosilicate glass.

Principal advantages :

  • Very high rate of sphericity.
  • Very smooth and glossy surface.
  • Low proportion of air bubbles.
  • High degree of purity.
 
   

Glass ceramic beads for grinding SiLiBeads GZ

Good compromise between the glass bead and the ceramic bead.

Principal advantages :

  • Density = 3.
  • Higher effectiveness than glass beads.
  • Very high wear and breakage resistance
    (higher resistance than glass or silicate beads).
